Douglas Gordon was born in 1966 in Glasgow, Scotland. He lives and works in New York. After receiving a B.A. at the Glasgow School of Art from 1984 to 1988, Gordon undertook a graduate program at the Slade School of Art in London from 1988 to 1990. In 2006, his work was the subject of exhibitions appearing at the Fundació Joan Miró, Barcelona; the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the National Gallery, Edinburgh, Scotland; and the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Trento, Italy.
