Perou is a British fashion, portrait & music photographer born in Newick, a small village in East Sussex, England. His work crosses many photographic genres: fashion, portrait, music, documentary and advertising.

Between 1991 and 1994, Perou studied Photography, Film and Video Arts at London Polytechnic. After graduating, Perou worked at Click Studios in London as a studio manager where he met many of the world’s leading photographers of the time, other assistants (now also photographers in their own right) and the people behind Dazed and Confused magazine. It was during this time that Perou really learned how to photograph professionally and he started shooting for editorial clients like Time Out London, Skin Two and Dazed and Confused magazines. He also started shooting bands, following work that he did with his friends who were in the Island Records signed act Elcka.

Perou considers himself a ‘people photographer’ and he continues to photograph all kinds of people around the world from the biggest celebrities, artists, musicians and politicians to biker gangs in Japan and drag queens in Namibia.
