Swiss-American painter Madeleine Paternot draws her imagery from a variety of sources such as Japanese anime, the female figure, and vintage furniture to create intimate portraits which emphasize the purity, simplicity, and intimacy experienced by women in everyday situations. Exhibiting her nomadic nature and study of cultural traditions, Madeleine’s meditative paintings evoke a raw sensuality usually presented as an installation with real furniture.
